【摘要】:Thismicrovacuumsamplingandindirectanalysismethodisusedforthegeneraltestingofnon-airbornedustsamplesforasbestos.Itisusedtoassistintheevaluationofdustthatmaybefoundonsurfacesinbuildings,suchasceilingtiles,shelving,electricalcomponents,ductwork,carpet,etc.ThistestmethodprovidesanestimateofthemasssurfaceloadingofasbestosinthedustreportedaseitherthemassofasbestosperunitareaorasthemassofasbestospermassofsampleddustasderivedfromaquantitativeTEManalysis.Thistestmethoddoesnotdescribeproceduresortechniquesrequiredtoevaluatethesafetyorhabitabilityofbuildingswithasbestos-containingmaterials,orcompliancewithfederal,state,orlocalregulationsorstatutes.Itistheuser''sresponsibilitytomakethesedeterminations.Atpresent,norelationshiphasbeenestablishedbetweenasbestos-containingdustasmeasuredbythistestmethodandpotentialhumanexposuretoairborneasbestos.Accordingly,theusersshouldconsiderotheravailableinformationintheirinterpretationofthedataobtainedfromthistestmethod.Thisdefinitionofdustacceptsallparticlessmallenoughtopassthrougha1mmscreen.Thus,asingle,largeasbestos-containingparticle(s)(fromthelargeendoftheparticlesizedistribution)disassembledduringsamplepreparationmayresultinanomalouslylargeasbestossurfaceloadingresultsintheTEManalysesofthatsample.Conversely,failuretodisaggregatelargeparticlesmayresultinanomalouslylowasbestosmasssurfaceloadings.Itis,therefore,recommendedthatmultipleindependentsamplesbesecuredfromthesamearea,andthataminimumofthreesamplesbeanalyzedbytheentireprocedure.1.1Thistestmethodcoversaprocedureto(a)identifyasbestosindustand(b)provideanestimateofthesurfaceloadingofasbestosinthesampleddust,reportedaseitherthemassofasbestosperunitareaofsampledsurfaceorasthemassofasbestospermassofsampleddust.1.1.1Ifanestimateofasbestosstructurecountsistobedetermined,theuserisreferredtoTestMethodD5755.1.2Thistestmethoddescribestheequipmentandproceduresnecessaryforsampling,byamicrovacuumtechnique,non-airbornedustforlevelsofasbestos.Thenon-airbornesampleiscollectedinsideastandardfiltermembranecassettefromthesamplingofasurfaceareafordustwhichmaycontainasbestos.1.2.1Thisprocedureusesamicrovacuumingsamplingtechnique.Thecollectionefficiencyofthistechniqueisunknown.Variabilityofcollectionefficiencyforanyparticularsubstrateandacrossdifferenttypesofsubstratesisalsounknown.Theeffectsofsamplingefficiencydifferencesandvariabilityontheinterpretationofdustsamplingmeasurementshavenotbeendetermined.1.3Asbestosidentifiedbytransmissionelectronmicroscopy(TEM)isbasedonmorphology,selectedareaelectrondiffraction(SAED),andenergydispersiveX-rayanalysis(EDXA).Someinformationaboutstructuresizeisalsodetermined.1.4Thistestmethodisgenerallyapplicableforanestimateofthesurfaceloadingofasbestosstartingfromapproximately0.24pgofasbestospersquarecentimetre(assumingaminimumfiberdimensionof0.5x03BC;mby0.025x03BC;m,see17.8),butwillvarywiththeanalyticalparametersnotedin17.8.1.4.1Theprocedureoutlinedinthistestmethodemploysanindirectsamplepreparationtechnique.Itisintendedtodisaggregateanddisperseasbestosintofibrilsandfiberbundlesthatcanbemoreaccuratelyidentified,counted,andsizedbytransmissionelectronmicroscopy.However,aswithalli......
