【摘要】:Thistestmethodissuitableforfieldteststodeterminetheaveragemacrotexturedepthofapavementsurface.Theknowledgeofpavementmacrotexturedepthservesasatoolincharacterizingthepavementsurfacetexture.Whenusedinconjunctionwithotherphysicaltests,themacrotexturedepthvaluesderivedfromthistestmethodmaybeusedtodeterminethepavementskidresistancecapabilityandthesuitabilityofpavingmaterialsorfinishingtechniques.Whenusedwithothertests,careshouldbetakenthatalltestsareappliedatthesamelocation.Improvementsinpavementfinishingpracticesandmaintenanceschedulesmayresultfromuseofthistestmethod.Thetexturedepthmeasurementsproducedusingthistestmethodareinfluencedbypavementmacrotexturecharacteristicsandnotsignificantlyaffectedbypavementmicrotexture.Pavementaggregateparticleshape,size,anddistributionaretexturefeaturesnotaddressedinthisprocedure.Thistestmethodisnotmeanttoprovideacompleteassessmentofpavementsurfacetexturecharacteristics.Thepavementmacrotexturedepthvaluesmeasuredbythistestmethod,withtheequipmentandproceduresstatedherein,donotnecessarilyagreeorcorrelatedirectlywithothertechniquesofsurfacetexturemeasurements.Thistestmethodisalsosuitableforresearchanddevelopmentpurposes,wheredirectcomparisonsbetweenpavementsurfacesaretobemadewithinthesametestprogram.Note28212;Thepavementsurfacetobemeasuredusingthistestmethodmustbedryandfreeofanyconstructionresidue,surfacedebris,andlooseaggregateparticlesthatwouldbedisplacedorremovedduringnormalenvironmentalandtrafficconditions.p>1.1Thistestmethoddescribesaprocedurefordeterminingtheaveragedepthofpavementsurfacemacrotexture(see3.1)(1)bycarefulapplicationofaknownvolumeofmaterialonthesurfaceandsubsequentmeasurementofthetotalareacovered.Thetechniqueisdesignedtoprovideanaveragedepthvalueofonlythepavementmacrotextureandisconsideredinsensitivetopavementmicrotexturecharacteristics.1.2Theresultsobtainedusingthisproceduretodetermineaveragepavementmacrotexturedepthsdonotnecessarilyagreeorcorrelatedirectlywiththoseobtainedbyotherpavementmacrotexturemeasuringmethods(1-5).1.3Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandardThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
